Marina’s Obituary
Young, Marina Jessie – Halifax. It is with sadness that the family of Marina Jessie Young, announce her death which occurred on Tuesday September 8, 2020. Born on March 12, 1935 at home in Wallace, daughter of Helen and Hance Mccann. Marina worked for 25 years with Air Canada and was a member of the Pioneers Group. Many of her co- workers became lifelong friends. Marina and Bob loved to spend their summers at their cottage on the Gulf Shore and for many winters at their place in Florida. Marina liked to socialize and entertain; great memories for all who were part of her social gatherings. She enjoyed her exercise classes as well as her painting. Marina is survived by her brother, Graham Mccann (Lynn) of Fredericton, NB; step daughters, Paula Rhodenizer (David), Elizabeth Wong, all of Halifax and Susan Wilkes (Iain) Ottawa, ON; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents Marina was predeceased by her husband Robert Young and her beloved dog Buffy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at the funeral home with burial in Wallace Cemetery on September 17, 2020. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Private condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the funeral home website at www.mmcfunerals.com The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Shannex, Drummond Hall, 4 the floor, for all their kind and caring attitude to Marina for these past 4 ½ years.
