Marie Chevarie 1945 2020

Obituary of Marie Chevarie
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gladys “Marie” Chevarie announce her peaceful passing on September 10th, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 25th, 1945 in Windsor, NFLD, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Day and Jim Beason.
Marie made New Brunswick her home in 1975, but never forgot her Newfoundland roots. Some of the things she enjoyed most were listening to some good ole Newfie music, writing poems, and spending as much time as possible with her family. Marie will be missed immensely but will forever be remembered for her kind heart, nurturing soul, and the ability to crack a joke on the spot and bring laughter to the room, right to the very end.
Marie is survived by her two children: Daniel Chevarie (Cindy) and Patricia Chevarie (Charles); two step-children: Bobby Chevarie and Laurie Melanson (Mark); two brothers, Daniel (Helen) and Harold (Barb); two step-brothers, Alan (Donna) and Donny (Val); four step-sisters: Florence (Mick), Leona (Gord), Sylvia (Gerald) and Rosie; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Erica (Nyk), Joey, Christopher, Amber, Corey (Missy), DJ (Melyssa) and Jessica (Matt); 4 great-grandchildren, Dominic, Henry, Casey and Cohen; as well as former husband and good friend Pat Chevarie; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by adoptive parents Molly and Dan Tobin; two brothers, Patrick Beason and baby brother Jimmy Beason; one step-brother, Martin Beason; two step-sisters, Laura Smith and Mary Beason.
Marie’s family would like to thank the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion shown to Marie during her final days. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row Saint John (634-7424) where a private family Liturgy will take place in Brenan’s Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances in Marie’s memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital. www.brenansfh.com.
