SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Maria (Daigle) Stewart
93, of Saint-Louis-de-Kent passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Monday, February 24, 2020. Born in
Pointe-Sapin, she was the daughter of the late Narcisse Daigle and
late Marie (Mazerolle) Daigle. Maria was a member of
the St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church
and she was a devoted caretaker that assisted preparing the
Masses.
Maria will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Paulette
Stewart (late Joe) of St. Louis, Anne Daigle (Alyre) of Pointe-Sapin,
Marcia Mazerolle (Réjean) of Dieppe, Maria Richard (Gilles)
of St. Louis; eight sons, Wilbert Stewart (Elise) of St. Ignace,
Stephen Stewart (Juliette) of Calgary, Blair Stewart (Claudette) of
St. Louis, Vernon Stewart of Calgary, Danny Stewart (Rhonda) of
Aldouane, John Stewart (Nicole) of St. Louis, Roderick Stewart
(Carole) of St. Louis, Robert Stewart of St. Louis; twenty-one
grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and five great great
grandchildren.
She is also survived by four sisters, Elise Daigle of Dieppe,
Cécile Lirette (Willie) of Dieppe, Gemma Côte
(late Berthier) of St. Louis, Sr. Thérèse Daigle
of Campbellton and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Roderick Stewart; one son, Joseph; three daughters, Nora, Stella,
Carmen and many brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Saturday from
9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will
be celebrated on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 am, St. Louis
des Français Roman Catholic Church in St. Louis.
Donations in Maria’s memory may be made to the NB
Alzheimer’s Society. The family wish to express a
sincere thank you to Dr. Josette Vautour and the staff at the Villa
Maria for all their kind and compassionate care of Maria during her
stay. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s
Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
