Maria Amelia Antonio
With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, the family of Maria Amelia Antonio of Edmonton, AB, announces that on April 11th, 2020, Maria passed away peacefully with her beloved family at her side at the age of 58 years.
She is survived by her husband, (Augusto); daughter, (Natasha); son, (Marco); parents, Eduardo and Maria Helena; brother, (Louis): and sister-in-law ,(Isabel); grandchildren, Tiago and Alma; son-in-law, (Claudio); daughter-in-law, (Jessalynn); and nephews, Nicholas and Miguel; mother-in-law, (Maria Luz); sister-in-law, (Candida); brother-in-law, (Victor) and her puppy, Mila.
Maria had a gentle heart with a warm smile; truly beautiful inside and out. She was a loving wife, mother and very proud to be called Avó by her grandchildren. She brightened all the lives she touched and was the strength and heart of her family. Maria cared and loved deeply, always putting others before herself. She was a true example of what generosity is and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her kind and bright spirit.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on Unit 5F3 Family Medicine at the University of Alberta Hospital for caring for Maria in her final days. Your kindness, dedication and compassion during this difficult time will always be remembered.
A private service was held Monday April 20, 2020. Please note that due to the Government of Alberta social distancing guidelines due to Covid-19 the number of people in attendance was restricted. The Antonio and Luz Families appreciate all of the prayers and supportive messages offered during this time.
