Marguerite Anne Bethune 1949 2020

Obituary of Marguerite Anne Bethune
Marguerite Anne Bethune passed away peacefully in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax Infirmary site, on Monday, January 6, 2020. Cremation has taken place. Marguerite was born in Antigonish March 20, 1949 to the late Helen (MacDonald) and Roy Stewart of Lochaber. She worked for many years as a caregiver to the elderly who quickly became life long friends. Marguerite was an avid gardener who took great pride in watching her flowers grow. Her greatest gift came in 2017 when she was blessed with her beautiful granddaughter, Lily Madeleine Bethune. Lily quickly became “Nana’s girl” and knew exactly how to wrap Nana around her finger. Marguerite also loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Survived by her husband Lloyd, Antigonish, her son Brent (Susan) Lochaber, brother Rev. Doug Stewart, sister Joan Stewart, both of Antigonish, half brothers Dennis (Cindy) St Andrews and Darryl, Montreal, nephews Wayne (Jennifer) and Mark (Chantel) and grandniece/nephews as well as numerous cousins, too many to mention, that were all like brothers and sisters. Visitation, Friday January 10, 2020, 2-4 & 7-9 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St, Antigonish. Funeral Saturday 11 am in St Ninian’s Cathedral, Rev. Donald MacGillivray presiding. Donations in Marguerite’s memory may be made to Antigonish & Area Homemakers, 133 Church St Antigonish NS B2G 2E3. Family flowers only please. www.MacIsaacs.ca
