Marguerite MacLean Allen 2020

Marguerite Allen (1925-2020)
Marguerite Eleanor Allen (MacLean) passed away peacefully on June 4, 2020 after 95 years of a life well-lived. Born in Cape Dauphin as one of Annie (MacRae) and Roderick MacLean’s 8 children, she travelled to Rhode Island to pursue a career in Nursing. She lived, worked and raised her family in Rhode Island until her recent return to Cape Breton.
She was an avid reader, opera and theatre enthusiast and supporter of worthy causes. She was among the original feminists whose liberal views were the basis of lively debates. This intrepid traveller celebrated memories of her explorations around the world.
She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews who enjoyed spending time skiing, swimming, golfing and playing tennis with her.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold, grandson Andrew, brothers Archie, Bill, Don, George and sister Christine. She is survived by siblings Roy (Gladys) and Shirley.
She will be remembered proudly by daughters Shelley (Blair), Cindy (Jim), grandchildren Alison (Rob) and Malcolm (Lacey), who were her pride and joy. She was a devoted great- grandmother to Charlie, Amos and Annika.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Marguerite MacLean Allen 2020..
