Obituary of Margaret Jean McAloon
Margaret Jean McAloon, age 94 of Stanley, NB passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, December 14, 2020. Born in Harvey Station, NB on September 27, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Gardiner and Margaret (Piercy) Essensa.
Marg was a hairdresser and a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed curling, bowling, playing cards and watching her “Toronto Blue Jays”. She brought love and laughter to each and everyone she met in life and will truly be missed by everyone she touched.
Marg is survived by her son, Michael G. McAloon (Shelley) of Halifax, NS; sister, Shirley Watling of Woodstock, NB; sisters-in-law, Theresa Gorman (Royce) of Stanley, NB, Mary (McAloon) Jones of Fredericton, NB and Maxine Essensa of Ontario; and several nieces and nephews.
Marg was predeceased by her husband, Douglas McAloon; sisters, Christine McElwain, Bertha Narrowmore and Glenna Muise; brothers, Larence, Earle, Allison, Donald and Raymond Essensa.
At Marg’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Private Family Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or charity of the donor’s choice.
