Margaret Schapansky May 10th 2020

Margaret Schapansky née Falk, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully at Oxford Residential Care Home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on the morning of May 10th, 2020. Mom was born 1926, in Ukraine, the third child of Katarina and Cornelius Heinrich Falk. Two years later, in the company of her parents, and her older sister and brother, Mom moved to Canada and settled in rural Manitoba, where she spent her childhood and early adult years.
Mom married our father, Harry Schapansky, the love of her life, in 1948. They lived in Winnipeg for half of their life together, and then chose to retire in Abbotsford in the early 1980s. Our parents were married for 65 years until our father’s death on March 16, 2014. Mom was also predeceased by her daughter Carol and granddaughter Arden.
Mom will be remembered fondly, and deeply missed by her children Ruth, Edith (Michael Bedford), and Bob (Dorothy), her grandchildren Jeff (Heather), Corinne (Bronson), Craig, Sara (Mark), Christopher, Rachel (Yoshi), Heather (Paul), Mark, Steve, Rebecca (Andrew) and Emily (Justin), and great-grandchildren Caleb, Nathan, Kara, Kate, Jaron, Ayane, Hiko, Raylan, Hudson and Peyton, as well as by members of her large extended family.
Cremation has taken place, and a service commemorating Mom’s life will take place at a later date.
If friends so desire, and in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Salvation Army.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Margaret Schapansky May 10th 2020..
