Margaret Rachael “Peggy” Bignell
93, of Glen Margaret, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in Hospice Halifax, Halifax. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Kenway) Noseworthy. She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Ted) Sams, Halifax; granddaughter, Kyla Marie (Samuel) Weir, Halifax. Predeceased by her husband, Hugh; brothers, Lewis and Gerald Noseworthy; sister, Thelma Dillman. Peggy had many talents. She was best known for her paintings which she sold at local craft shows, but she also knitted, crocheted, quilted and hooked rugs. She shared Hugh’s enjoyment of stamp collecting and together they had many friends throughout the Philatelic community.
The family will receive visitors 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 9th in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. At this time, we will also be celebrating the life of Hugh Bignell, who passed away October 22, 2014. Masks and social distancing required while in the building. Husband and wife will be interred together at a later date in the William Black Memorial Cemetery, Glen Margaret. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Halifax or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
