Margaret “Peg” Orr
1924-2020
Margaret “Peg” Amanda Orr of Oak Bay, NB, wife of
the late Roland Orr, passed away peacefully at Charlotte County
Hospital on Saturday November 28, 2020 with family by her side.
Margaret was born on September 21, 1924 in Oak Haven NB., daughter of
the late Chester and Josephine Purdy.
Margaret is survived by her children, Judy McFarlane
(Cedric), Sharon Dow (Ken), Donna Urquhart (Dave), Gary (Donna), Pat
Lister, Dale (Theresa), Randy (Holly), Danny (Gail), Peggy (Brian) and
Bobby (Pat), sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great- grandchildren and
four great- great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret is predeceased by her
husband of 56 years Roland, her son, Billy, son in law, Gordon Lister,
siblings: Arnold, Myrtle, Rena, Lorraine, Bill, Irma, Muriel, Carmen,
Leslie, Lillian and Gerry.
Margaret spent most of her life raising and enjoying her
family in their family homestead in Oak Bay NB. She was a member of
the UCW and the Home & School for many years where she kept a
close eye on her family. She enjoyed watching her children play sports
and the many family camping trips while enjoying the horse
races.
Margaret always looked forward to her summers when family
would gather for potluck dinners and all the stories being told around
the fire.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a celebration of
Margaret’s life will be held at a later date.
For those who wish, remembrances to the Oak Bay Cemetery,
Heart & Stoke Foundation or a charity of one’s
choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to the family
