1940 – 2020
Margaret Elizabeth Irene Whetstone (née Woods) passed away peacefully at Hannah Walker Place in Owen Sound, on October 9, 2020.
Dearly loved wife of the late Robert Whetstone and loving mother of Kim Morissette, Shawn (Donna), Troy (Joanne), Jodi Dawson (John) and Robyn Follis (Dwayne). Proud Grandmother of Erin, Lacey, Rebecca, Brooke, Rachel, Alyssa, Rylee, Tyler, Taylor and Tamara. Great Grandmother of Avery, Cameron and Aubrey. Preceded in death by her parents Lyla and Evert Woods, brother Howie, son-in-law John Morissette and her beloved Pug, Lyla.
Marg was an avid fan of Owen Sound Lacrosse and Hockey, and loved knitting and crocheting. She was also a devout fan of Young & the Restless and all dogs.
Cremation is taking place and a private service to celebrate Margie’s life will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, October 16, 2020. Due to COVID19 restrictions, all attendees are required to wear a mask and must follow social distancing rules. Although the service is private, friends are welcome to watch the service at 11:00 a.m. via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website home page (woodfuneralhome.ca).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Myles Animal Sanctuary or the Canadian Lung Association are appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Online condolences can be forwarded by visiting Margie’s memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
Special thanks to the staff at Hannah Walker Place for their excellent care. She will be missed by many, but in the words of Marg, “It’s Game Over”.
