HORNE (Haines), Margaret Louise
“Mag” – It is with heavy hearts we
announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Louise “Mag” Horne
age 99 of Little Dover who passed away in the Milford Haven Home for
Special Care, Guysborough on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Born in
Little Dover she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Katie (David)
Haines.
During her working years, Margaret was a store/business owner
and also worked at the Scotia Restaurant and Canso Fish Plant. Mag was
a lover of bingo and loved a good game of cards at the local card
plays. Margaret was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little
Dover.
Left to mourn are her sons, Winslow (Beatrice), Little Dover;
Emery (Donna), Beaver Bank; seven grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren; brothers,
Duffield (Rhoda), Tom (late Beatrice), Lloyd (late Irene), Ronnie
(Peggy), Manzer (Anna); sisters, Isabel (late Clarence), Tina (late
John), Garnet (Gordon) and many nieces and nephews. Besides her
parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Isaac Horne; sons,
Murray and Brantford; brothers, John (Rose) and Mac; sisters, Leona
(Ellsworth) and Amanda (Lawson).
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday
from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with Father Charles
Cameron officiating. Burial in St. Agnes Parish Cemetery. Memorial
donations may be made to St. Agnes Parish. Words of comfort may be
