Margaret Jansen Penner Sunday June 14th 2020

MARGARET JANSEN
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret on Sunday, June 14 at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Margaret was born October 10, 1936 to Abram and Lena Penner, the second of eight children. Born in Kusmitzky, in South Russia (now Ukraine), Margaret came to Canada in 1948, relocating to Watrous, Saskatchewan.
Faith was a large part of Margaret’s life, and she joined the Bethany Mennonite Church in Watrous where she was baptized by Jacob Nickel on July 22, 1956.
Margaret moved to Winnipeg where she met the love of her life – John. They were married on March 5, 1960, and just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They have 4 children; Karin (Gerry), Peter (Christine), David (Pam), and Lena (George).
Margaret was 83 years young, and is survived by 4 brothers, Peter, Henry, Abe, Vic, and one sister Erna.
Mom loved her immediate and extended family, her brothers and sister and their families, and her many friends. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her biggest love was her life partner, John. She will be missed.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Health Sciences Centre for their kindness and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Margaret’s behalf to The Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
Due to COVID-19, attendance restrictions will be in place and social distancing will be observed.
