Margaret Evelyn (Lund) Reid of Dutch Brook, passed away Monday October 12, 2020 in Seaview Manor, Glace Bay, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney on November 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Effie (Hanson) Lund.
Margaret was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She worked at the Isle Royal Hotel until her retirement. She resided at Seaview Manor for the last 6 and half years, and enjoyed the activities with the many friends she made there.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Evelyn (Al) MacNeil, Toronto; sons Charles (Carol), Dutch Brook, Gerald “Larry” (Donna), Winnipeg ;sister Joyce Keigan, Dutch Brook; bother Donnie (Shirley); 7 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren and 3 great greatgrandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Archie; sisters Florence MacKinnon, Connie Ireland, brothers Edward, John, Jimmy, Earl, Gerald, and William.
Visitation will take place Wednesday October 14, 2020 from 2-4and 7-9pm in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Thursday at11 am in Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Covid -19 restrictions will be in place and there will be limited seating in the church. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
