Margaret Conrad 19252020

Margaret Conrad
1925-2020
Margaret (Lemal) Conrad, age 94, formerly
of Trenton and New Glasgow, passed away March 3, at Valley View
Villa.
Born October 11, 1925, in Inverness, Cape Breton, she was a
daughter of the late Josephine and Chrisante Lemal.
Margaret grew up and went to school in Inverness. She came to
New Glasgow in her late teens, to work as a Nanny for the McCulloch
family. It was during one of these summers at Melmerby Beach, that she
met the love of her life, John. She devoted her
life to him, and her family.
In her younger years, she enjoyed skating, gardening,
bowling, golf, and fishing. She spent many hours playing crib with
John. She was never too busy to stop and make a picnic lunch, for
whatever adventure her daughters were on at the moment. Friends and
neighbors were important, and it was not uncommon to share supper with
someone sick or alone.
Her grandchildren were very important to her, she loved to
hear of their accomplishments, and what they were up to day to
day.
She is survived by her daughter, Margo Marsh, Halifax;
grandchildren, Joel Marsh (Camilla), Stockholm, Sweden; Adam Marsh,
Halifax; and Jenna Marsh, Dartmouth; great-grandsons, Adam Jr. Marsh
and Leo Marsh Andersson; brother, Arthur Lemal,
Inverness.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John, her
daughter, Christine, sister Amelia, and brothers, Alex, Raymond,
Roger, and Marcel.
At Margaret’s request, cremation has taken place
and no service or visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the
direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New
Glasgow.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Margaret Conrad 19252020..
