Margaret Campbell
1936-2020
It is with sadness, we announce the passing of Margaret
(Margot) Jean Campbell, which occurred at the Saint John Regional
Hospital on January 3, 2020, at the age of 83. Born August 3, 1936 in
Norton NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward (Ned) Campbell and
the late Florence (Thorne-MacDonald) Campbell. Margot was the last
surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by twin
siblings, Malcolm and Florence.
Margot graduated from Sus High and started her
career at J Clark and Son, went on to work at Sus Ginger Ale in
Sus and transferred to Seven Up Sus Ltd in Saint John. She then
worked with C-I-L Inc in Montreal and transferred to North York,
Ontario where she retired.
Margot returned to Norton in 1992 and worked
part-time at Speedy Propane in Sus and Saint John, Charm Jewelry
(Sus), the Village of Norton, RDPC in Norton and Sus and Sears
in Norton.
Margot was a member of the Norton United Baptist
Church, volunteered on the Village of Norton Streets and Sewage
Committee, involved in Neighbourhood Watch, and a board member of
CNIB. She enjoyed her many friends and the life of a small
village.
At Margot’s request, there will be no
visitation and the interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery in
the Spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s
Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre, (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road,
