MANUEL “MANNY” NORBERT DE ALMEIDA
On Thursday, February 20, 2020 – Manuel Norbert De Almeida passed away peacefully at Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his mother Deolinda, sister Maria (Don). His wife Wilma. His three sons Jesse, Carlos (Cassandra), Michael (Alexis), stepsons Kevin (Melissa) and Lawrence, step daughter Tanya. nieces “Roxy” (Paulo), Lisa (David), Charla (Paul) Denim, Serena, and Kylee. Granddaughters Sloane and Avaya. And step grandchildren Kylie, Nicholas and Marcus. He was predeceased by his father Antonio, brother Tony, and stepson Jason.
Manny came to Canada along with his mother father and sister, in 1965 from Sao Jorge, Portugal.
He was always known as a hard worker, doing sewer and water work as well as masonry up until 2005 when an accidental house fire caused him to lose his vision for the remainder of his life.
Following his move out to Fisher Branch after the accident, Manny enjoyed long talks on the phone with friends and loved ones, walks around the town, tuning into his favorite television shows and simply enjoying some quality time with good company. He will be missed dearly.
Service will be on Monday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg.
