Obituary of Magdalini Nikolopoulos
It is with great sorrow, cherished memories and love in our hearts, we regrettably announce the passing of our beloved mother, friend and yiayia. Born in Diassela, Greece she passed away in Maple Ridge, B.C October 24th, 2020, after a short visit at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Dimitri, parents, siblings and extended family members. Her legacy lives on through her son George (Popi), daughter Tasia (Nick) and daughter Georgina, also through her grandchildren Nektaria, Dina, George and Demitra. Magdalini will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness and generosity for her family and friends. Always making sure everyone was looked after, while running Pyrgos Taverna for the last 30 years. Mom will be dearly missed by all who she has encountered with throughout the years. Touching many hearts with her witty sense of humour and her passionate storytelling, always leaving people amazed by her experiences and knowledge she carried. Magdalini was the happiest with her family and friends, but also had a passion for gardening. She will be missed but never forgotten by all her immediate and extended family throughout Canada, Greece and Australia. A special thank you to Ridge Meadows Hospital and all the nurses at 3 North for their endless amounts of care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in her name to a charity of your choice or to B.C Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
Funeral will be held at Saint Nicholas and Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4541 Boundary Road, Burnaby, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
