Madeline Abigail Enns
On Monday, July 13, 2020 surrounded by her family, Madeline Abigail Enns passed peacefully into the arms of God. Maddy will be forever remembered and lovingly missed by her parents, Elaine and Sieg; her two sisters, Natalie and Emily; her grandparents, Peter and Kathie Enns and Peter and Mary Wiebe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Maddy was born on September 25, 1998 and lived in the small town of Anola her whole life. She attended Anola School and graduated from Springfield Collegiate Institute in 2016. Maddy was always willing to share her gifts and her time in volunteering. She was an active member of the church, volunteering at her home church, Sargent Avenue Mennonite as a Sunday school teacher, at Camps With Meaning as a summer camp cook, and at the MCC Thrift Store. Following graduation, Maddy began to volunteer at the Gillis Play and Learn Centre and very soon was invited to become part of the staff. The joy that she derived from working with children was evident.
In April of 2018, Maddy was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Despite the difficulties of going through surgery and treatments, Maddy maintained a remarkably positive attitude throughout her battle with cancer. She loved the sweet things in life: baking, Sour Patch Kids, Disney and dancing. We love you Maddy and we will miss you.
A come-and-go viewing will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., Winnipeg. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20 at Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only. A private interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camps with Meaning or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
