Born in Blind River on July 26, 1940 to James Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Vivian (nee Faires) Maclean, John passed away in Meaford on Sunday July 5, 2020 at the age of 79.
John will be remembered as the beloved husband of Patricia ‘Pat’ (nee Adams) and loving father of Ken Maclean of Sault Ste. Marie, Dawn and her husband John Lancaster of Kitchener, Scott Maclean and his wife Mary Lou of Meaford, Jan Maclean and her fiancé Jon Taylor of Barrie and Joan and her husband Pierre Schnupp of Ottawa. He will be sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
John was a dear brother to Shane Maclean and his wife Katherine of Cobourg and Sandy and her husband Earl Wilson of Meaford and brother-in-law to Lloyd Adams and his wife Kathy also of Meaford. He will be recalled as a special uncle to his several nieces and nephews and their families.
A private family funeral service, officiated by Pastor Leroy Pennell of Heritage Baptist Church in Barrie will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home on Thursday July 9th, 2020 followed by a service of committal and interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
