Mabel McKenzie
Mar 12, 1924 – Aug 11, 2020
Mabel Rosina McKenzie passed peacefully at the age of 96 years, at the Canmore Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mabel lived a full and active life in the Bow Valley including many years as a Girl Guide Leader, as well as managing the Exshaw branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. After moving to the Bow River Lodge in Canmore
in 1989, she continued her kind and generous contributions to her community by being active with the Lodge Residents’ committee
with fund raising, the Tuck Shop, Bingo and any other activities where she could help.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband James in 1989, sister
Barbara, and granddaughter who passed in infancy. She will be
lovingly remembered by her three children, Sandra (Red),
Barbara, and Robert (Peggy), six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service of interment
will be held. A Celebration of Life will be planned in the future, in respecting the limitations that are now in place with the Covid19
and its inherent issues.
Friends wishing to remember Mabel are encouraged to make a donation, in her memory, to the Canmore Hospital Ladies Auxiliary,
Box 40016, Canmore, AB T1W 3H9 chladiesaux@gmail.com, remembering all the knitting that she did to support their work
