Lynda Phillipson February 9th 1950 December 3rd 2020

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the death of our mother, grandmother and friend, Lynda Phillipson. Loved by her children Dani (and Brian), Lisa (and Rayden) and Rob (and Ali), grandchildren Emmeline and Elodie, countless students, colleagues and friends, Lynda will be remembered as a kind and inspiring supporter, who always recognised the potential in those around her. She enjoyed the quirky children (and adults) others found difficult and appreciated their unexpected talents. A brilliant educator, Lynda was a generous mentor and collaborator. She understood the joy of learning and always worked to support the learner’s interests and goals.
Since retiring, she had continued teaching in English Language courses for new Canadians. She understood that these adult learners needed not only a better understanding of English but also a safe place to ask practical questions about Canadian life and ways to build connections and feel a sense of belonging.
More than anything else, we will miss Lynda’s thoughtful listening, in kindness and sincerity, with an immense generosity of spirit. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice, or better yet, spend some time with someone who needs a listener, a teacher or a friend. Without judgement, help to make them feel heard, empowered and worthy – it’s what Lynda always did.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lynda Phillipson February 9th 1950 December 3rd 2020..
