1933-2020
The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on
Tuesday, August 4, 2020, with her loving family by her side, of Lulu
Miriam McAssey, beloved wife of Robert McAssey, of Alma. Born
at Elmsdale, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Merrill E. and
Lottie Pearl (nee Brennan) Wallace.
Loving mother to Margaret, Gordon, John, Gary (Patsy) and
James (Ellen). Cherished grandmother to Lisa (Jason Cooke),
Michael (Joni Albert), Amanda, Emily, Kelsey, Connor, Rob, Colin,
Bailey, and Chris (Maddie Lewis). Great-grandmother to
Cameron, Kyle, Joslyn Coughlin, Keira, Hanna and Carson DeCourcey and
Laken McCassey. Great-great-grandmother to Cole and Eli
Coughlin.
Dear sister to Bill (late Evelyn), Jean (Weldon) Rennie, Ida
(late Stewart) MacDonald, Raymond (Sandra), Donnie (Nancy), Debbie
(John) Moore and Stephen (Dary). She is also survived by
brothers and sisters-in-law, Olive (John) Premerl, Florence (Perley)
DeBeau, Judy Cheverie (Kim LaRoux), Selwyn (Cindy) McAssey, Ferne
Wallace, Ethel Lee Wallace and Gail McAssey. She
will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and
friends.
She was predeceased by brothers, Doug, Clayton, Roger, and
Blair Wallace, and by brother-in-law, Floyd McAssey.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, from
where a private family visitation and graveside service will be held
with Rev. Robert Lockhart officiating. Interment in the
Montrose United Church Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the West Prince
Caring Cupboard or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be
gratefully appreciated.
