Luella’s Obituary
Luella Helen Dumonceau (nee: Simmons), age 83, passed away at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, SK on June 2, 2020. Mom was born May 23, 1937, at Tisdale, SK. She is predeceased by her parents: Ruth Chesney (Harvey) and George Russell Simmons; brother: Owen. Mom is survived by her 7 children: Ruth, Joe, Andy (Terry), Angela, Debra, Jeanny (Joe), and Kathi; fifteen grandchildren: Cynthia, Christine, Charity, Jamie (Kim), Krystal (Ryan), Jeff, Jessie, Nick, Demetri, Lee (April), Terri (Joe), Lindee (Jamey), Cydney, Devin, Taylor; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers: Bill (Betty-Ann), Lloyd, Robert; sisters: Pat, Esther (Ralph); as well as numerous other family members. Mom’s greatest pride and joy was her 7 children and many grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family. Mom was a long-time member of the Salvation Army Church and took her faith to heart. Mom lived and was graciously cared for at Providence Place for the past 6 years. Mom was an avid reader and loved to knit. One of moms past times would be spent walking and/or travelling on the city bus around Moose Jaw. Cremation took place on June 4, 2020 and will be followed by a private family columbarium service at Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw, SK at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the Moose Jaw Salvation Army Church (175 1 Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9). Jones – Parkview Funeral Services has been entrusted with care of arrangements. In living memory of Luella, a memorial planting will be made by Jones – Parkview Funeral Services.
