1925-2020
The passing of Lucy Ellis
Spence, 94, of Springhill, occurred at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, March 8, 2020 after a brief
illness. Born in England, Lucy was a daughter of the late
Arthur and Blanche (Rogers) Ellis.
Lucy had worked for the Eaton’s Order
Office for many years prior to marrying. She was an active
member of All Saints Anglican Church, Springhill, and a faithful
Christian.
A beloved wife and mother, she is
remembered lovingly for her kindness and compassion, for her devotion
to family, and loyalty and concern for friends. She is
remembered fondly for her encyclopedic genealogical knowledge and
knowledge of the community, her dedication as a homemaker and for her
love of dogs.
Lucy will be dearly missed by her
husband of sixty-six years, John “Jock” Spence, of
Springhill; her son Brian Spence, of Parrsboro; two
sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, as well as several nieces,
nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by a brother, Arthur, two sisters, Alberta and Gertrude,
and seven of her brothers and sisters-in-law.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Service, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where a time of
visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8
pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 pm at All
Saints Anglican Church Hall, Springhill. Interment will take place in
the Hillside Cemetery in the spring. The Rev’d Dr. Brian J.
Spence presiding.

to the All Saints Anglican Church, Springhill.
