Obituary
Lucia lost her brave battle with cancer at home on Thursday, April 30, 2020 surrounded by the love of her family.
She leaves to forever miss her, her loving husband of 36 years, Dennis; daughter, Lisa Pozderec of Nanaimo; son, Martin (Tia) Pozderec of Victoria; her beloved Jack Russell, Charlie; grand daughter, Jewel (Travis) Hentges; siblings, Maria (Albert) and Anna (Daryl) of Port Alberni, Nuccia (Craige) of Fort Nelson, Romano of Nanaimo, Enzo of Prince George, Yolanda (Sylvano) of Italy; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends. Lucia was predeceased by her parents, Romeo and Gertrude Paragallo.
Lucia worked in janitorial services at the Pulp and Paper Mill in Port Alberni for over 25 years and took great pride in her job. Later she worked at Busy Bee Cleaning Services where she loved all her clients and very much enjoying getting to know them and their families.
Lucia was an avid gardener and plant enthusiast. Her garden was her pride and joy and she spent many happy hours tending to the plants and watching them grow.
The family wish to extend special thanks to Dr Ferguson, Dr Wendy Johnsen, the Palliative nurses, Jessica, Katherine, and Christie who treated Lucia with love, respect, and dignity.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring Lucia’s memory by making a donation in her name to Ty Watson Society Hospice.
