Barry, Louise Marie (nee Pike) May 25, 2020. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing, after a courageous battle with cancer, of our beloved mother and grandmother.
Mom passed at her home in Placentia, NL at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family whom she dearly loved and who loved her beyond measure.
She is predeceased by her husband Thomas (November 1999), her father Leo Pike and her mother Elizabeth Pike (Hanrahan), and granddaughter Michelle.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious and loving memories are her children and their families, her sons: Gerald (Lenora); Thomas Jr. (Regina); Derek (Elaine); Shawn (Rhonda); Leo (Wendy); Lorne (Barbara); Sheldon (Yvonne); daughters: Cathy Rideout (Hubert); Donna Brenton (Calvin); Lorraine Edwards (Andy); and Darlene Walsh (John).
Nan Barry also leaves a large family of 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren as well as many cherished friends, especially Monsignor Walsh, Phoebe, Carrie, Doreen, and special sister in law Maureen Barry.
A special thank you to her nurses, Kelly and Nicole, for their compassionate care, and Dr. Alfiya, Placentia Health Care.
Louise lived a simple, happy life rooted in her Catholic faith, with a large family whom she cherished above all. As an only child herself, her children and their children were her entire world, and she raised and guided them with wisdom, wit, and an unwavering, unconditional love.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, visitation will be held at Coombs Funeral Home at a later date, a Mass of Christian Burial will also be scheduled at a later date, followed by inurnment at Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia
Donations in her name may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, St. John’s, NL
