Louise Berger 2020

Louise Berger
(née Strudensky) It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the peaceful passing of Louise late Saturday evening, October 31, 2020, in her eighty-sixth year. Devoted wife and best friend of Leonard for sixty-six years. Cherished mother of Brian (Franca Alfano), Craig (Céline Afriat) and Allison (Ernie Furt). Treasured grandmother of Anthony (Leanna), Amanda, Erin, Caitlin, Melyssa (Stephen), William and Jessica. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Annette and the Late Ben Geiger and Marvin Strudensky. She will be greatly missed by her aunt, Rhoda Levi, and by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends but especially by Shiffy – her loyal and faithful friend to the end. Louise was a gentle and quiet woman – a true balabusta, she made a home out of a house for her husband, her children, grandchildren, friends and all who gathered there. She never complained and always had a piece of her famous honey cake at the holidays for all to enjoy.
Special thanks to all of the doctors who took care of her during her stay on the 5th Floor, and the Cancer Day Centre at St. Mary’s Hospital, Drs. Davidson, Narbone, Dalfen and Basile, and Dr. Metrakos at the Cedars Cancer Centre and Hema, the pivot nurse, and the nurses and PABs. Also thanks to all of the personnel of the CLSC-Saint-Laurent during their short involvement especially, Christian Lafrance, Christian Vezina and Dr. Marie-Josée Caron as well as all of the Golden Home Care providers.
A private graveside service will take place. Contributions in Louise’s memory may be made to the St. Mary’s Cancer Centre c/o St Mary’s Hospital Foundation, (514) 734-2694, or to the Cedars Cancer Foundation (514) 656-6662.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Louise Berger 2020..
