Louis’ Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis Dumont in the McLennan Hospital on April 27, 2020 at the age of 92 years. He will always be remembered as a good man.
He was born in Neville, Saskatchewan on September 2, 1927 to Charles Dumont and Antonia Couture. At the age of three, the family moved to Whitemud Creek, Alberta. This is where he grew up and later homesteaded. In 1952, he married Cécile Blanchet and together they raised six children. They farmed until 1979, at which time they retired and moved to Falher. Two more moves followed: the Villa Beauséjour and Manoir du Lac.
He was the last child of a family of 12. Louis was predeceased by his wife, Cécile (2015) and his son, Maurice (1963). Left to mourn his loss are his children, Gilbert, Roger, Richard (Valerie) and their children; Tyler and Sara, Paulette (Edward) and Eugene. He also leaves behind his in law’s. Lorane and Marlene Dumont, Marie (Gaston) Mencke, Gabrielle (Edmond) Charest, Martin (Karen) Blanchet and Angele (René) Lemire. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff from Manoir du Lac and Sacred Heart Hospital for the care they gave to Louis.
As Louis really enjoyed the Rec Therapy Program, donations can be made in his honor. They can be issued to Manoir du Lac Rec Therapy in Memory of Louis Dumont, Box 270, McLennan, AB T0H 2L0
A Memorial Service will be held from the Falher Municipal Campground on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM.
