Obituary of Lorraine Boone
Lorraine Boone of Saint John, NB passed peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on March 26th, 2020 at 8:20 AM. Wife of the late Frederick R. Boone, she was born in Clarendon Sta. on May 24, 1942 daughter of the late Alma (Wheaton) and Mark Johnson.
Lorraine attended Saint John Vocational School and was employed by Manchester Robertson Allison Ltd. at the time of her marriage. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church (formerly Waterloo St. Baptist) where she was active in a number of areas with a special passion for the Visitation and Soup Committees. She was a member of Women’s PROBUS Club, Saint John and thoroughly enjoyed monthly gatherings with delightful friends who dubbed themselves the Ringettes. She derived great joy from photography, gardening, quilting, travel (especially with Nancy’s Tours) and her family and friends, her church life and all of God’s creations in nature.
She is survived by daughter Wendy S. Harris (Doug) of Saint John, son Duane J. Boone (Tina) of Red Deer, AB, beloved grandchildren Matthew, Jessica, Lindsay, Kate and Brittaney, step-grandchildren Justin and Nicolas, cherished great-grandsons Parker and Dexter and treasured great-granddaughters Charlie and River. Surviving are sisters Sharon Blagdon (David) of Sagwa, NB, Linda Negus (Jim) of Saint John, brothers Brian Johnson (Colleen) of Clarendon, NB, Kevin Johnson (Kristina) also of Clarendon, NB, and Darryl Johnson (Lois) of St. Catharines, ON, as well as step-siblings William MacDonald, Betty Ann MacDonald and Henry Thompson, and stepmother Shirley Johnson of Downsview, ON. Predeceased by her husband and parents and nephew Aaron Johnson.
The family wish to thank the staff of Saint John Extramural, Bobby’s Hospice and Dr. Thompson, Dr. Dorey, and staff of 5C North for their outstanding care and compassion.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) and will be announced at a later time, with a private family burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, Clarendon, NB.
