Obituary for
Lorraine Mary Trynchy
On February 3, 2020, Mrs. Lorraine Mary Trynchy passed away peacefully in her hometown of Mayerthorpe, AB, at the age of 85 years. Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 67 years, Peter Trynchy; son, Marlin (Janet) Trynchy of Stony Plain, AB; daughter, Darlene (Val) Langevin of Sylvan Lake, AB; grandchildren, Christopher, Jeffery, James (Jackie) and Ashten (Sheldon); and great grandchildren, Skyla and Harper. Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Wally; and brothers, Frank (Hazel) and Ben (Winnie).
Lorraine grew up in the Anselmo area with her mother, father and two brothers. After graduation, she worked as a local bank clerk before meeting her husband, Peter. After marrying Peter, Lorraine focused her energy on raising their children, running the family business, and dedicating the majority of her adult life to public service as a politician’s wife. She and Peter spent their later years as Snowbirds in Phoenix, AZ, where they created many memories with family and friends. She loved sharing stories about her curling victories and never shied away from reminding her family what a good lead she was. Lorraine was known for her love of cooking, baking and gardening. Her multiple freezers were always packed full of her famous homemade buns and apple pies, which her family will fondly remember. Lorraine will forever be remembered as a caring, selfless and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Extendicare Mayerthorpe for the care and compassion shown to Lorraine and the family over the past number of years.
Celebration of Life on March 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 126,
5111 – 45 Avenue, Mayerthorpe, with Reverend Ruth Lotholz officiating. Private inurnment in Mayerthorpe Cemetery. In Iieu of other tributes, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
