Lorna Unity Koontz February 10th 2020

Mrs. Lorna “Unity” Koontz passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Didsbury Hospital at the age of 67. She was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lorna and her brothers, Roy (Doreen), Darril (Lorena) and Garnett (Karoline), and her blended family, Penny, Jo-Ann (Dean), Brenda, Shawn, Thea and Kari (Tom) were raised in Windermere, British Columbia where the family owned the Windermere Hotel. She met Fred in Calgary, Alberta and they were wed on January 5, 1971 recently celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary.
Unity will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Fred; her children, Pamala (Greg), Steven and Sharon (Darryl); her grandchildren, Blayze (Tessa), Rhett (Brittany), Marshall (Callie), Andrew and Peyton, Nolan (Shae) and Naomi; her blended and extended family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Rebecca; parents, Lorne (Patricia) Beninger and Constance Nault; half sister, Kari; and brother, Roy.
The family will be hosting an open house in Celebration of Unity’s Life on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Cremona Community Hall, 302 Centre Street, Cremona, Alberta.
