Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lona M. Fraser, (RN), loving wife of Lorne Fraser, announces her passing on Thursday July 16, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Lennoxville, Quebec in October of 1950, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Shirley (Robertson) Fleck. Lona graduated from the SJ School of Nursing in 1976. She then took a position at the Northern Maine Medical Centre, where she was employed for 21 years. During her and Lorne’s time in Edmundston, she was a devoted member of St. Paul’s United Church and was the Sunday School Superintendent as well a member of the UCW. She was served as past president of the IODE in Edmundston.
In addition to her husband of 49 years, Lorne Fraser, she will be greatly missed by her children Lowell (Nancy) of Quispamsis, Lance (Michelle) of Saint John and Loren (Rob Moore) of Ontario; grandchildren Ethan, Jack, Kane, Finnegan and Emma; siblings Marion, Velma (Ian), Vincent (Maria) and Christopher; mother-in-law Grace Fraser; brothers-in-law Rev. John, Carl and sister-in-law Barbie Sue; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her father-in-law Russell Fraser.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. At her request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will be held in Tabusintac Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke or the charity of the donor’s choice.
