Lois’ Obituary
BENT, Lois Irene ~ age 89 of Middleton, NS formerly of Brickton, NS passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at home. Born in Brickton, she was a daughter of the late Andrew “Andy” and Reta (Charlton) Stevenson. Lois worked for many years at the Lands and Forest Nursery in Lawrencetown and with Kings Processing in Middleton. She was a devoted Blue Jays fan, an avid bingo player, loved going to Jam sessions and enjoyed making doughnuts. Lois also loved spending time and catching up with her family and friends. Lois is survived by her daughters, Janet Rogers (Dave Morrison), Hanwell, NB; Dianne (Ben) Schiere, Edberg, AB; Donna (Al) Simpson, Spa Springs; sons, Andrew Bent (Donna Lewis), Nictaux; Brian (Kathy) Bent, Middleton; grandchildren, Sherri Bent, Ottawa, ON; Jonathan Rogers, Fredericton, NB; Steve Schiere, Camrose, AB; Alecia Schiere, Musquodoboit Harbour; Alan Bent, Nictaux; Samantha Bent, Cold Lake, AB; Nicole Bent, Fredericton, NB; Shannin Timpa, Dartmouth; Jeremie Campbell, Halifax; great grandchildren Kayden, Kelsea, Brooke, Ariel, Cheyenne, Sterling, Nathan, Scott and great-great grandsons River and Dominic. Lois was predeceased by her husband Murray Bent and son, Alan Bent, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In keeping with Lois’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service conducted by Pastor Shelley Illsley Martin will take place in Middleton Funeral Home (unfortunately due to public gathering restrictions this has to be limited to invitation only). A live stream of the service will be available to be viewed through the funeral home website ‘Live Stream’ option beginning at 1:55 p.m. ADT, Saturday, October 10. Donations in memory may be made to Breast Cancer Foundation. A heartfelt thank you to all of our family and friends for your thoughts and prayers.
