The family is saddened to announce Lloyd’s death after a brief period of rapidly declining health. Lloyd was the son of the late Lorne and Irene (Boris) McLean. Lloyd was the husband of Clara (Horne) McLean. They had recently marked their 60th anniversary. He was the father of Janice (Wayne) Kanasevich, Arlene (the late Allan) Pelley, the late Lorne McLean and the late Wanda (Murray) Purcell. He was the beloved Grandad of Matthew Pelley and of Kyle, Sarah, Neil and Owen Purcell. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was brother to Sterling and Lorne McLean and late sister Euneice Walker. Tolerant Grandad to family pets Casey and Buddy and proud and loving grandad to poodle Sadie. Lloyd spent 35 years in the Royal Canadian Navy and was stationed out of Shearwater, NS. Lloyd and Clara started their family in Shannon Park and later moved to Seaforth, NS where they lived for 30+ years and then moved to Dartmouth where he lived out the rest of his life. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thurs, March 5th, with reception to follow at the Dartmouth Funeral Home. ALLERGY ALERT: NO SCENTS or FLOWERS. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to Hope for Wildlife located in Seaforth, NS (hopeforwildlife.ca).
