Lise Ashikawa
On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, Lise Ashikawa passed away suddenly at home at the
age of 73 years old. Lise will be forever remembered by her devoted husband
Michael; and her sons, Jeffrey and his wife Natasha and Tosh and his wife
Danielle. She will be greatly missed by her two grandsons, Darcy and Aidan and
her two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Kaitlyn.
Lise was born to parents, Ernest and Blanche
Paradis in Kapuskasing, Ontario. She leaves her brother, Claude Paradis and her
brother Robert Paradis and his wife Peggy Averill.
She grew up in Kapuskasing, went to teacher’s
college in Sudbury and started teaching in the Kapuskasing Roman Catholic Separate
School Board District. Lise was an excellent teacher and was beloved by her
students.
Lise went on to obtain two degrees and ended up
teaching twenty-seven years before taking an early retirement plan.
Lise will be fondly remembered for her love of
family. She was an excellent cook and loved to travel to the Maritimes. She
loved seeing plays and musicals. In her spare time, she loved to read novels
and earlier on in her life, she loved to tole paint, especially Christmas
ornaments.
At her request, there will be no funeral
service and cremation has taken place. A celebration of Lise’s life will be
held for family and her friends in Kapuskasing in the spring.

Elle laisse dans le
deuil son époux, Michael de Chatham; ses deux fils: Jeffrey (Natasha) de
Petawawa, Tosh (Danielle) de Kapuskasing; ses quatre petits-enfants: Darcy,
Aidan, Elizabeth et Kaitlyn; ainsi que ses deux frères, Claude Paradis et
Robert Paradis (Peggy).
Elle fut précédée par
ses parents, Ernest et Blanche Paradis de Kapuskasing.
Suite à ses études,
Lise a enseignée pour 27 ans dans la communauté de Kapuskasing. Dans son temps
libre, Lise aimait cuisiner et voyager dans les Maritimes. Elle aimait
également les pieces de théâtre, la lecture et la peinture, surtout sur les
ornements de Noël. Les gens se souviendront toujours de son amour pour sa
famille.
En respectant les
voeux de Lise, il n’y aura pas de services funéraires, cependant une celebration
de vie pour sa famille et ses amis prendra place au printemps.
Comme témoignage de sympathie, la famille serait reconnaissante de dons aux Médecins sans frontiers.
