Obituary of Linda Moffatt
March 27 1947 to February 27 2020
Linda passed away at her home in Toronto on February 27, 2020 at the age of 72. Linda was beloved life partner of Alice Gough. She was deeply loved by sister Louise Moffatt, brothers Ken Moffatt and Bill Moffatt ( pre-deceased). She will be missed by niece Tasha Rabinowitz, niece Elisa Moffatt, nephew Timothy Moffatt as well as brother-in- law Scott Telek and sister-in-law Jitka Moffatt.
Linda kept and cultivated relationships. Linda cherished and valued people from many walks of life including a network of close friends, former students, colleagues, high school and university friends, extended family including aunts and cousins, neighbours as well as their families.
Linda was a devoted high school teacher and was a true teacher even outside the classroom. She was vivacious and enjoyed her life. She had many interests including nature, gardening, the waterfront including the Beaches in Toronto and Venice in Florida. She was fascinated and studied culture including literature, films, art, theatre, dance, and musical performances. She had a particular interest in women’s lives and women’s well-being. She will be remembered for sharing her love of music including jazz, Motown, and classical music.
The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14th. A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held in June. Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
