Linda MacKean
1949-2020
It is with the saddest of hearts that we share the sudden
passing of Linda Lea (Ellsworth) MacKean of Little Harbour. Linda
passed on May 2nd at the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in 1949, Linda was
the eldest daughter of the late Sarah G. (Shackley) Ellsworth and
William B. Ellsworth. Linda was the most loving mother and grandmother
to her only daughter, Lisa Rutledge, Westville, and grandsons, Dustan
Northrup, Little Harbour and Kory Northrup, Saltsprings. Her grandsons
were her pride and joy. Linda will be dearly missed by her sisters,
Jane (Rick) Upham, Truro, and Faye-Ann (Denis) Renaud, Montreal. She
was predeceased by her sister, Irene Star. Linda endured the loss of
three husbands through her life, Wayne Rutledge, Raymond Palmer and
Gary MacKean.
Linda worked at Valley View Villa for 34 years. She loved her
career, her coworkers and those she cared for. Upon retirement, Linda
continued her involvement with the First United Baptist Church and
enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive every
Christmas.
Linda’s heart and sense of humor were as big as they come.
She found great comfort in sending cards and letters to everyone who
held a piece of her heart. Thoughtfulness and compassion came so
naturally, Linda spent her life making others happy. Linda will always
be remembered for her quick wit and infectious laughter. Linda spread
laughter through funny stories, crazy get-ups and little
gifts. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Linda knows
they were truly blessed.
In her memory please be kind and thoughtful of one another,
find humor in yourself and spread love and laughter. Cremation has
taken place under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home and a
celebration of Linda’s life will take place at a later date. Donations
in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Linda MacKean 19492020..
