1945-2020
Linda Elsie MacIntosh, of Abercrombie, passed
away Monday, July 20, 2020, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Pictou
on April 18, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Elsie and John
Hayne. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband and best
friend, Sidney “Sonny” MacIntosh.
She was a faithful member of St.
George’s Anglican Church where she served as treasurer and
as a member of Council for many years and was a member of the ACW. She
also volunteered as treasurer for the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society
and the Anglican Churches of Pictou County.
She attended Guysborough Memorial High and
Success Business College. Prior to retirement, she was employed with
Steven and Fiske Const. (Halifax), Tibbetts’ Paints
(Trenton) and retired from Bell Aliant after 28 years of service. She
enjoyed traveling to NASCAR races and Pro Stock races with her
husband. She also enjoyed baking and knitting.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a
brother and sister in infancy. She is survived by her brothers,
Ormille (Mary), Halifax; Derek (Heather), Country Harbour; Tommy
(Shelley), Antigonish; nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation by request.
A service for FAMILY
ONLY will take place at 11 am Thursday, July 23, in the
R.H. Porter Funeral Home Chapel, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, with
Rev. Mark Pretty officiating. All COVID related public health measures
will be respected. Wearing of masks is encouraged. Interment will be
in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Aberdeen
Palliative Care Society.
