Linda’s Obituary
With great sadness we announce the passing of Linda Kathleen Banks of Timberlea, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Linda passed away peacefully at the Melville Lodge nursing home in Halifax on March 26, 2020 holding the hands of her husband and daughter.
Born in Middleton, Annapolis County on August 21, 1950, Linda was the daughter of Fred and Irene Rafuse. She was predeceased by her sister Frances Gates, and brothers Lester and George Rafuse. She is survived by her husband Wayne, daughter Michelle, grandson Otis Banks-Berg, sister Sharon (Ronald) Baker, brother Morton (Sharon) Rafuse, and several nieces and nephews.
Linda worked in the Halifax banking industry for 37 years, and was a branch and investment manager at Royal Trust, the Royal Bank, and the Bank of Montreal. She is remembered as a trusted and inspiring leader and a caring and committed mentor.
Linda was devoted to her family and always offered support in any way she could. She enjoyed staying at her cottage in Margaretsville on weekends and especially visiting her grandson, Otis, in Windsor, Ontario.
Due to the coronavirus, visitation and funeral service at the Middleton Funeral Home will be on hold until a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
