Obituary
Lina Anna Dietrich
February 29, 1932 ~ June 24, 2020.
Lina was born in Konstanz, Germany. She lost her parents at a very early age so was raised in a church orphanage near the Swiss border. Lina’s love for children led her into an early career as a live-in nanny.
Lina leaves behind her loving husband John of 60 years. They met through a newspaper ad and after a short six weeks of courtship, they married and moved to Canada to start their family. They settled in Langford, BC before coming to Kelowna where they raised their family on a small farm. Lina and her husband John spent their retirement years in Salmon Arm, Smithers, and finally Summerland.
Lina was predeceased by her son Herbert Dietrich, but is survived by her daughter Anne (Gary) and three grandchildren: Brandi (Nate), Ryan (Jennifer), and Jessica as well as five great grandchildren: Tryton, Maeya, Gavin, Mackenzie, and Lilly.
Lina was a kind, loving wife and an incredible mother to her children as well as the many daycare kids that were under her care. Her favorite thing to do when not gardening or looking after her many small farm animals was crocheting.
Lina loved her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy.
Lina will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank all the nurses, care aides, and staff of Dr. Andrew Pavilion for the care and love she received while there. You all went above and beyond and you truly give the word family a greater meaning. Your hearts are huge and your smiles light up the days. You made her smile with the love you all showed. You were her angels.
