Leonard was born to Annie Germaine and Eugene Cornect Sr. on January 9th, 1937. He married Eileen Young on August 22nd, 1959 and together raised their family.
Leonard had an impeccable work ethic which took him all over. While he was away Eileen managed the homestead and small family business which included a movie theatre and a teen dance/pool hall. Later in his retirement Leonard fulfilled his passion for cooking by starting a restaurant and bakery business. He was famous for his “Kay’s ” pizza.
Leonard was a loving and devoted father first and foremost. He treasured his family and embraced every moment with them. He will be sadly missed by everyone and will be fondly remembered as Skippy.
The family would like to acknowledge Stewart Cornect (his nephew) who was a constant companion and a dear friend.
Leonard’s family would also like to thank his two home care providers Sharon Rouzes and Madonna Lagatdu for their invaluable help over the last number of years.
In keeping with the family’s wishes cremation has taken place. Due to the ongoing health crisis with Covid-19 there will be no formal services at this time. A celebration of life will take place after Covid restrictions have been lifted.
