Leonard James Bonnar
Alder Point
It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our brother, father, grandfather and uncle, Leonard James Bonnar, age 57, on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at home.
Born in Alder Point on November 11, 1962, he was the son of the late Gerald and Goldie (LeBlanc) Bonnar.
Lenny spent most of his earlier years in St. Catharines, Ont., but chose to come back home to Cape Breton. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and nature walks.
He was a loving father to his daughters Alyssa (Joe), and Brooke (Brandon), and his son Tommy (TJ). He also leaves behind to mourn his granddaughters Hannah, Jenna and Alaina, brothers Charles (Terry), and Willard (Rosemary), sisters Doreen, Florence (Elmer), Bonita (Dale), Christena (Maurice), and Catherine, and lots of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Gerald (Cat), and Eric, brother-in-law Joe Smith, and nephews Jacob and Jamie.
The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Eugene Ignacio and staff, the EHS and CBRP responders, and friend Norma.
Cremation has taken place. His family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 20, 2020, from 7-9 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
