It is with great sadness that the family of Leona Mary Sutherland (Veno) announces her passing on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 93.
Born in Weaver Siding on September 13, 1926 to George and Esther Veno (Colford).She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a devoted wife and mother for 65 years and a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband Benedict Sutherland, one daughter Bonnie Veno (Pat), two sons Bennie Sutherland of Blissfield and Leonard Veno (Debbie) of Parkers Ridge, two grandchildren Chris Veno (Crystal) of Blissfield and April Munn (Sonny) of Boiestown, two great grandchildren Wyatt Munn and Jasmine Colford and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Helen O’Donnell, Evelyn Tucker and Grace Colford, two brothers Frank and Ralph Veno, three infant brothers and one infant sister.
Leona Mary Sutherland is resting at Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church with visitation on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:30 pm at Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church with Father Godwin Kalu SMMM officiating.Burial will be in the family plot of the church cemetery later in the spring.
