Leon Cooper
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Leon on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Loving husband of Anne, the love of his life for sixty-two years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Lloyd (Marla), Faith, Ellen, Pamela and Rebecca (Lorne). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Alex, Michelle, Richard, Julia and Andrew, who loved their Zadie deeply. ‘Favourite uncle’ to all his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses. He will be sadly missed by his friends and acquaintances. Leon was eloquent, intelligent, distinguished; his very presence lit up the room. We wish to thank the staff of Kastner 4 and 6 at Jewish Eldercare for their unwavering care and compassion and acknowledge the recreation staff, who not only provided first-class entertainment, but who, during this time of COVID, enabled him to continue to communicate with his loved ones via FaceTime. Special thanks to the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care unit at the JGH, who provided exceptional care to Leon during his brief stay. A private graveside service will take place. Donations in Leon’s memory may be made to the Jewish Hospital of Hope Eldercare Foundation, (514) 738-4500, ext. 2124.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leon Cooper 2020..
