Leah Helen Seabrook 2020

Obituary of Leah Helen Seabrook
Leah Dorothy Chadsey (Seabrook), 76,
Passed Away on July 25, 2020 in her
Bouchie Lake Home
Leah Dorothy Chadsey (Seabrook) was born to parents Ruth Vivian (DIB) Ferguson and George Steven Chadsey on March 24, 1944 in New Westminster, B.C. Her family left
the Lower Mainland and moved to Quesnel (Bouchie Lake Area) in 1951 where she mainly called home until the time of her passing.
Leah’s early years were spent outdoors where she far more enjoyed working alongside
her dad rather than being in the kitchen with mother and sister Gay. Her love of the outdoors was her lifelong passion, from horseback riding to hunting to camping and
any other outdoor activity she could find. She was a true adventurous.
Leah was predeceased by her brother Dick, and survived by her sister Gay, her four
children, Lance, Bruce, Carla and Steven and by seven grandchildren and eleven
great-grandchildren. Here kids and grand children was the most important thing to
her and brought her so much love and joy.
Leah was a true pioneer, she worked in typically a man’s world – the mining industry, road construction where she was the first woman to run heavy equipment on the construction of the Coquilhalla Hwy., she drove a cat, a packer, was a supervisor of a
120 – person camp and many more responsibilities too numerous to mention.
Leah was much loved by many, her love of the outdoors, art (painting) Gin and beer,
family and friends and life itself will always be cherished. Her sheer determination, stubbornness and heart of gold will always be remembered. Rest in Peace Leah, fly
with the angels, never to be forgotten
A small grave side service was held on July 30, 2020,
Donations to the B.C. Cancer Society would be much appreciated.
