Laurie Hébert
1929 – 2020
Grande-Digue, NB – Laurie Hébert, 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, he was the son of the late Évariste and the late Mélina Hébert (nee Léger).
Laurie began his career as an auto mechanic, which he did for more than 25 years. He completed his career in 1994 with the Department of Transportation of the Province of New Brunswick as a vehicle inspector. When he retired, his passion for violins was transformed and he learned how to make them. This hobby allowed him to tweak his technique and build quality violins. Many in the region were able to take advantage of his talents as a violinist. He enjoyed beautiful evenings of music well surrounded. He left a legacy of his passion for music to his children and grandchildren.
Laurie will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 62 beautiful years, Laudia Hébert (nee Babineau) ; his children, Jean-Guy (Marie-Thérèse) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Roland (Claudette) of Grande-Digue, Charles (Jennifer) of Connecticut, USA, Louis (Joanne) and Francis (Nadia) both of Grande-Digue ; his grandchildren, Denis, Martin, Luc, Nadine, Stéphane, Maryse, Mélanie, Pierre, Éric, Jean-Marc and Monica ; his great grandchildren, Mila, Laurence and Élyse ; his brother and sisters, Adrien (Dora) of Shediac, Annette Léger (Ralph) of Dieppe and Doris Caissie (late Normand) of Grande-Digue; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Viola, Anida, Germaine, Bernadette, Rita, Pierre, Wilfred, Yvon, Éva-Mai and Odule.
Due to the current pandemic guidelines, everyone attending the visitation will be mandated to wear a mask.
Visitation will be held from Passage Funeral Chapel, Shediac Bridge, on Saturday, October 31st, 2020, from 9 am to 11 am.
Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church, Grande-Digue, Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11 :30 am.
The service will be streamed and can be viewed live on the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PassageFH/ for all others to participate from home. (Click on yelllow link to access page).The service will also remain available on Passage Facebook page following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CHU Dumont Foundation (Palliative Care) or to a charity of your choice.
