Laurette Poirier
March 21, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Laurette Poirier, 85, Cheticamp in the Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home on March 21, 2020. Born in Cheticamp, Laurette was the daughter of the late Charlie and the late Sabine (Chiasson) LeFort.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Poirier; brothers, Patrice and Lionel; sister, Beatrice; daughter, Jeanne and son in law Wendell. Laurette is survived by her daughters, Paulette (late Wendell), Francine (Brian), and son, Jean Roland (Francine); grandchildren, Douglas (Ann), Ashley (Andrew), Shawn (Kristen), Kimberly (Craig), Michelle (Connor), and Emma (David); great grandchild, DJ.
Laurette worked as a cook in local restaurants and made hooked rugs for local gift shops. The family will cherish some of these beautiful art pieces as souvenirs. We will always remember how she loved Christmas, family meals with her children and grandchildren, cats, and listening to music. The family would like to thank the Foyer Père Fiset for the loving care given to our mother during the last 6 years.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated in Église Saint-Pierre, Cheticamp at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Foyer Père Fiset.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Laurette Poirier March 21 2020..
