It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kevin James Mombourquette, 65, of Lower L’Ardoise. Kevin was born September 12, 1954, to the late Francis and Catherine Mombourquette.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Wanda Mombourquette (Parsons), son Blair (Krista) Mombourquette of Quispamsis, NB, daughter Tara-Lee (Murray ‘Murphy’) Vidito of Dartmouth, Granddaughter and Little Princess Maggie (Blair) Mombourquette, and Godchild Keigan Cotie, who affectionately nicknamed his godfather ‘Bubba’ at an early age; brothers, Francis (Georgina), Blair (Judy), Earl (Jeanette), Floyd (Amanda); sisters, Diane MacNeil, and Michelle (Claude) Cotie; brother-in-law and close friend, Brian Mombourquette, sisters-in-laws Tasha (Bruce) Brown, and Gwen (James) Brown, and brother-in-law Ronnie Parsons.
Kevin was predeceased by his sisters Anne Marie (infancy) and Monica, brother-in-laws Barry MacNeil and Gregory Parsons, mother-in-law Sylvia Parson, and father-in-law Ronald Parsons.
Kevin was a devoted husband, proud father, loving brother, uncle and friend. Kevin was a thoughtful, caring and gentle person who loved spending time with family, friends, and his cats Salem and Bella. Kevin worked for the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation & Infrastructure Renewal for 37 years, was a founding member of the L’Ardoise Volunteer Fire Department, and dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He took great pride in his family, was the kindest of souls and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2nd, from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Holy Guardian Angels Funeral Parlor, in L’Ardoise. Funeral Mass will take place at 11 am on Monday, August 3rd, at Holy Guardian Angles Roman Catholic Church, L’Ardoise, Father John Yake officiating. Non-medical masks / face coverings, as well as physical distancing will be required. Due to COVID-19, we regret that the Funeral Service will be limited to family and friends by invite only.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kevin’s name to the L’Ardoise Volunteer Fire Department (PO BOX 24, L’Ardoise,NS B0E1S0) or to Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital, Internal Medicine Unit in Antigonish (Contact Number: 902-863-1131).
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard St. Port Hawkesbury.
