Kenneth’s Obituary
RENO, Kenneth Leonard “Ken” ~ Age 87 years, of Middleton, Annapolis Co. It is with very heavy hearts we the family announce his peaceful and relaxed passing as he closed his eyes for the last time at home with his family on Friday, April 24, 2020. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Ken was born in Halifax to parents Clara (Walsh) and (John) Leonard Reno. After finishing high school, Ken joined the military and served his country for 25 years where he met his beloved Ida. Stationed in Summerside they went to the orphanage to adopt a son…but came home with a daughter instead…..Janet. After retiring, Ken went to work for Westinghouse for a number of years until finally retiring. He would spend his time passionately playing golf, fishing, quilting, and many, many road trips. Ken was a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. His true passion though would always be his only daughter Janet. He loved her more than anything, and would be blessed sharing his later years watching his grandchildren Sam and Rose grow up around him. They were the light of his life and he was so proud of them. Ken shared his final years with his precious cats Buttons and Custard, and sidekick Gus. He wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, wife the former Ida Kosakowsky; brother, Gerald (Mary Reno); sister, Rita (Alexander MacDonald). He is survived by his sister, Maureen (Arthur Corrigan); daughter, Janet (Paul Craig); grandchildren, Sam and Rose Fancey, Aaron and Kayla Craig (Wyatt and Ella), Coady and Hannah Craig, Tyler Craig and Anthony Grant. To Ken, family meant everything, and there are countless relatives that were all like siblings; children, more than cousins; nephews and nieces…too many to mention.
There will be a private burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston and a celebration of life to be determined at a later date. So much heartfelt gratitude goes out to Dr. Michele Saxon, all of the medical and supporting staff at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in Middleton, The Victoria Order of Nurses, Careforce and the Knights of Columbus. A special thank you to Knight Fred Hole for all of your visits. In his honour, do a good deed, help a family, be a good neighbour, love one another. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
